100 new jobs in high-end manufacturing are to be created in Tuam, Co Galway.
Technology company Valeo Vision Systems is investing €17m on research and development projects.
IDA Ireland supported the initiative, which will see 100 new positions in the Valeo plant in Tuam over the next three years.
Valeo Vision Systems manufactures multi-camera systems and supporting technologies for vehicle parking and manoeuvring.
The company is now expanding its global manufacturing operations and is investing in research and development for the generation of innovative new products.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Innovation Mary Hanafin described the jobs as a major boost for high-end manufacturing in Ireland.
She said R&D investment would help grow market share, generate jobs and pursue sustainable business models.
Valeo Director Fergus Moyles said recruitment is already under way.
IDA Ireland CEO Barry O'Leary said the decision to expand reflected Valeo's high regard for the Tuam operation.
Mr O'Leary praised what he called the company's very successful track record in this country.
